Anaesthesia in the Clinique Générale de Fribourg is provided by société Anesthesia SA. This unit is contracted to the clinic and comprises anaesthetists, anaesthetic nurses, recovery room nurses and administrative staff. Its aim is to provide professional, effective and unified treatment through the use of leading-edge anaesthetic technology.
The unit provides the following services for the safety and well-being of the clinic’s patients:
- Anaesthetic consultation with a doctor in the anaesthesia clinic one to two weeks before the scheduled surgical procedure
- General and/or locoregional anaesthesia
- Postoperative follow-up and analgesia for patients
Anesthésia SA also runs a pain clinic for the management of chronic pain.
A modern, interactive, BLS/AED teaching programme certified by the Swiss Resuscitation Council and designed to instruct participants in basic life support and the use of an automated external defibrillator has been in place since 2015.
