The congregation of the Sisters of Saint-Thomas of Villeneuve sets up the Clinique Garcia at Fribourg.
1932
Again in Fribourg, the Community of the Catholic Sisters of Saint-Anne founds the Clinique Ste-Anne.
1991
Takeover of the Clinique Ste-Anne by Marcel-Hubert Morard and the clinic’s doctors.
2005
The Swiss Medical Network group acquires both clinics and merges the two.
2006
The Swiss Medical Network group undertakes major renovation work on the Clinique Ste-Anne to the sum of CHF 6 million.
2007
All hospital activities are transferred to the Clinique Ste-Anne. The Clinique Garcia is sold to the State of Fribourg to construct the Adolphe Merkle Institute for the development of nanotechnologies.
2015
The Clinique Générale celebrates its 10th birthday – and more than 110 years as a landmark in the Fribourg hospital landscape.
